Terms and Conditions for Forest Gate Carpet Cleaners
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Forest Gate Carpet Cleaners provides domestic and commercial carpet cleaning services, including upholstery care, stain treatment, and related cleaning work. By making a booking with Forest Gate carpet cleaners, the customer agrees to these terms in full. These terms are intended to clarify expectations before, during, and after a service so that the arrangement is clear, fair, and practical for both parties.
In these terms, references to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean the service provider operating as Forest Gate Carpet Cleaners. References to “you” and “your” mean the person, business, tenant, landlord, or representative requesting the service. Where a booking is made on behalf of another person or property owner, the person placing the order confirms they have authority to agree to these terms and to permit access to the premises.
These terms apply to all standard carpet cleaning appointments, specialist stain removal requests, protective treatments, and any associated work agreed in writing or verbally before the appointment. Any additional conditions, exclusions, or special requirements discussed at booking will only form part of the agreement if confirmed by us. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable under UK law, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
1. Booking Process
Bookings for Forest Gate carpet cleaning services are made subject to availability and acceptance by us. A booking request may be submitted by phone, email, online form, or any other booking method we make available from time to time. A request does not become a confirmed appointment until we have acknowledged it and provided confirmation of the date, approximate arrival window, and any service details relevant to the job.
To help us provide an accurate quotation and suitable service, you must give correct and complete information at the time of booking. This includes the type and number of items to be cleaned, the condition of the carpets or upholstery, any known stains or odours, access restrictions, parking limitations, and whether water or electricity supply is available. If the information supplied is incomplete or inaccurate, the final price, schedule, or service method may need to be adjusted on arrival.
Forest Gate Carpet Cleaners may provide estimates or quotations based on photographs, descriptions, or site visits. Any estimate is based on the information available at the time and may change if the actual work differs from the description given. We reserve the right to refuse or revise a booking if the property conditions, health and safety risks, or service requirements are materially different from those described before confirmation.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the person present at the property on the service date can approve access, confirm the work requested, and make payment if required. If a third party, such as a tenant, letting agent, or building manager, is arranging the appointment, that person is responsible for ensuring there is agreement between all relevant parties regarding the service to be carried out.
2. Service Delivery and Customer Responsibilities
We will use reasonable skill and care when carrying out every Forest Gate carpet cleaning appointment. However, the success of cleaning results can vary depending on the age of the fabric, prior wear, previous treatment, fibre type, water damage, hidden staining, and other pre-existing conditions. Some marks may not be fully removable, and some odours may reappear if they are caused by deep contamination or underlying structural issues.
You must prepare the premises before the appointment by removing small or fragile items from the work area, providing safe access to the cleaning location, and ensuring that furniture or valuables are protected or moved where necessary. Unless otherwise agreed, we are not responsible for moving heavy furniture, disconnected appliances, or delicate items that require specialist handling. You should advise us in advance if there are fragile flooring materials, security systems, pets, children, or other conditions that could affect the service.
Where stain treatment, deodorising, sanitising, or specialist cleaning products are requested, you acknowledge that such treatments may alter the appearance or feel of the item being cleaned. Certain fabrics and dyes can react unpredictably to moisture, chemicals, agitation, or heat. Although we will take reasonable precautions and follow appropriate cleaning methods, we cannot guarantee that every item will be restored to its original colour, texture, or condition.
You agree to disclose any known hazards before the service begins, including bodily fluids, mould, pests, asbestos concerns, water damage, electrical issues, or chemical residues. If, in our reasonable opinion, the environment is unsafe or unsuitable for work, we may pause, reschedule, or cancel the appointment. In such cases, you may still be charged for attendance, inspection time, or any work already carried out.
3. Payments and Pricing
Prices for Forest Gate Carpet Cleaners services are normally quoted as fixed prices, hourly rates, or item-based charges depending on the nature of the work. Any quotation given before the appointment is based on the information supplied and may be revised if the scope of work changes. Additional charges may apply for heavily soiled items, extra rooms, large stain treatment areas, difficult access, urgent attendance, parking fees, or services requested on arrival that were not included in the original booking.
Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due immediately upon completion of the service. We may accept payment by card, bank transfer, cash, or another method stated at the time of booking. For business customers, invoicing arrangements may be offered at our discretion, and any invoice must be paid within the timeframe stated on the invoice. Failure to pay on time may result in reasonable recovery action, including late payment charges where permitted by law.
Forest Gate carpet cleaners reserve the right to request a deposit or prepayment for larger jobs, repeat cancellations, same-day appointments, or specialist work requiring materials to be purchased in advance. Deposits are usually applied against the final amount due unless otherwise stated. Where a deposit is taken and the customer cancels without sufficient notice, part or all of the deposit may be retained to cover administrative time, planning, and lost availability.
All prices are quoted in pounds sterling and, unless expressly stated otherwise, are inclusive of any applicable taxes. If a quotation is provided subject to a time limit, that quotation may lapse after the stated period. Any discount, promotional price, or special offer is valid only for the period and conditions specified and may be withdrawn or amended at our discretion for future bookings.
4. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Delays
You may cancel or reschedule a confirmed appointment by giving reasonable notice. Where less than 24 hours’ notice is provided, we may charge a cancellation fee or retain any deposit paid, especially where we have reserved time, declined other work, or already incurred travel or preparation costs. If you fail to attend, fail to provide access, or are not ready for the service at the agreed time, the appointment may be treated as a late cancellation and charged accordingly.
We will always try to attend within the agreed arrival window, but traffic, weather, equipment issues, or earlier jobs may occasionally cause delay. If we expect to be delayed materially, we will aim to inform you as soon as reasonably possible. A delay alone will not normally entitle you to compensation, provided we continue to act with reasonable care and complete the service within a reasonable time.
If we must cancel or reschedule due to illness, safety concerns, equipment failure, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control, we will seek to offer an alternative appointment. If we are unable to provide the service at a later date acceptable to both parties, any advance payment for the cancelled work will be refunded, subject to deductions for any non-refundable costs already incurred where lawful and reasonable.
We are not responsible for missed appointments caused by incorrect address details, restricted access, locked premises, unavailable keys, or failure to provide the agreed entry instructions. In such cases, we may charge the full call-out or booking fee. Repeated cancellations or unreasonable changes to bookings may result in refusal of future appointments.
5. Liability and Limitations
We accept responsibility for loss or damage caused directly by our negligence, fraud, or wilful misconduct, subject to the limitations set out in these terms and any rights you have under UK consumer law. However, we are not liable for pre-existing wear, hidden defects, inherent weaknesses in materials, or damage caused by incorrect prior cleaning, poor maintenance, or unsuitable environmental conditions. Carpets and upholstery with age-related weakness may suffer shrinkage, colour movement, pile distortion, or surface changes even when cleaned appropriately.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of business opportunity, loss of enjoyment, or inconvenience arising from the service, except where such exclusion is not permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Where we supply or apply cleaning agents, protectors, or stain removers, we will use products considered suitable for the job based on the information available. It remains your responsibility to inform us about allergies, sensitivities, or product restrictions. If you ask us to proceed against our advice, or if you withhold relevant information, you accept the risks associated with that instruction. We are not liable for reactions caused by undisclosed material properties or hidden contamination.
If damage is alleged, you must notify us as soon as reasonably practicable and, in any event, before the item is moved, used extensively, or altered by another contractor. Where possible, please provide photographs and a description of the concern. We may inspect the item, request further information, or refer the matter to our insurer if appropriate. Any admission of responsibility will be made only after reasonable review of the facts.
6. Waste Regulations, Disposal, and Environmental Compliance
Forest Gate Carpet Cleaners will handle waste and wastewater in a lawful and responsible manner in accordance with applicable UK waste regulations and environmental requirements. This includes taking reasonable steps to prevent contaminated water, sludge, packaging, and used materials from causing pollution or nuisance. We will not dispose of waste in a way that breaches environmental law or local rules concerning drainage, watercourses, or collection systems.
Where waste is generated during the service, such as discarded residues, removed debris, used cleaning materials, or heavily contaminated waste, we may contain and remove it if that forms part of the agreed work. If specialist disposal is required because of hazardous contamination, bodily fluids, pests, or unusual substances, additional charges may apply and we may refuse to proceed until the risk has been assessed. In some cases, referral to a specialist contractor may be necessary.
You must inform us in advance if the property contains hazardous or regulated materials that may affect cleaning or disposal arrangements. You are responsible for notifying us of any known environmental restrictions, landlord rules, building management requirements, or site-specific disposal limitations. If our work is disrupted because relevant information was withheld, any extra time, materials, or disposal costs may be charged to you.
We may use water extraction, rinsing, chemical treatment, or other cleaning methods that produce wastewater. By engaging our service, you authorise us to use reasonable methods of waste handling consistent with the agreed job, provided those methods are lawful and safe. We will take care to avoid unnecessary waste and to use products sensibly, but we do not guarantee that all residues can be removed without leaving some moisture, odour, or cleaning trace during normal drying.
7. Complaints, Variations, and General Terms
If you are not satisfied with any aspect of the service, you should inform us within a reasonable time after completion so that the matter can be reviewed. We may ask for supporting details, including photographs and a description of the concern. Where a genuine issue within our control is identified, we may offer a re-clean, remedial step, or other appropriate remedy at our discretion, subject to the circumstances and the nature of the original service.
Any variation to these terms must be agreed by us in writing or otherwise clearly confirmed. If we choose not to enforce a particular provision on one occasion, that does not mean the provision is waived for future bookings. Headings are included for convenience only and do not affect interpretation. Words in the singular may include the plural and vice versa where the context allows.
Nothing in these terms creates a partnership, agency relationship, or employment relationship between the customer and Forest Gate carpet cleaners. We may assign or subcontract part of the work to a suitably qualified third party where necessary, provided this does not materially reduce the standard of service agreed. Your statutory rights as a consumer, where applicable, remain unaffected by these terms.
By confirming a booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions for Forest Gate Carpet Cleaners. These terms are designed to support a clear working relationship and to reflect the practical nature of professional carpet cleaning services in the UK.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising from them or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from the service, unless mandatory law requires otherwise. Nothing in this clause affects any rights that may apply under consumer protection legislation or any other statute that cannot be excluded by agreement.
